AhlulBayt News Agency: In its official statement, the Council declared that the Zionist regime’s existence is rooted in violence, terrorism, and expansionist goals, especially the long-standing project of “Greater Israel” from the Nile to the Euphrates. The council noted that from its inception, the Zionist entity has caused relentless instability in the Middle East and committed atrocities, particularly against the oppressed people of Palestine.
The statement emphasized that after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran under the leadership of Imam Khomeini, the Islamic Republic emerged as a serious obstacle to Israel’s expansionist ambitions. Since then, Israel has treated Iran as a primary enemy and has not hesitated to launch hostile actions, including repeated attacks on Iran’s territory and diplomatic centers.
The latest of such aggressions occurred in the early hours of Friday, June 13, when Israel, even before completing its massacre in Gaza, carried out a brutal military strike on Iranian soil—killing and injuring scientists, commanders, and civilians. The Council strongly condemned this attack, calling it a clear violation of international law and labeling it a barbaric act of terrorism.
The Shia Ulema Council asserted that this is not just an attack on one sovereign nation but an attempt to destabilize the entire region and world peace. It called on the United Nations, global leaders—particularly leaders of Islamic countries—to prevent the continued crimes of this child-killing occupying regime.
They further stated that Western powers, especially the United States, bear major responsibility for enabling these crimes.
The Council expressed confidence that the hearts of Muslims and all justice-loving people around the world stand with the Islamic Republic of Iran and against the Zionist regime.
Finally, the Council offered condolences to the Supreme Leader, the government and people of Iran, and the families of the martyrs, while praying for the swift recovery of the wounded.
